Singer Prince refused to distribute the song via the Internet and considers the digital era is over. “The Internet has really done,” said Prince told a British newspaper, the Daily Mirror.
This singer who performed “The Most Beautiful Girl In The World” questioned why he had to peddle his songs digitally, such as or similar to the iTunes digital music service when it does not pay royalties to him. “But then they got angry when they couldn’t get the song,” Prince said.
He added that computers and digital gadgets are not good because it means users simply fill the heads with numbers. “And that’s not good for you,” he said.
For the new album, entitled 20Ten, Prince will use the format of the CD and are sold manually. The decision not to use internet services for the dissemination of his work was backed by a bad experience. In 2007, Prince’s official site closed because of a “quarrel” with the services of eBay, YouTube and the Pirate Bay which are considered abusing his songs.
